2026 Programs & Events

The library's annual Christmas in July sale will be July 1-3 at 9am until ?. There will be Christmas baskets, baked goods and books for sale.
Michigan State extension 4H STEM adventures innovating, creating, exploring. They have partnered with Mason, Lake and Oceana Great Start Collaborative for Stem Adventures! Through engaging activities children will develop life skills and love for reading by blending story time with STEM activities. Free, fun interactive activity for families to enjoy with their children 4-9 years old. These events will take place at the library from 2-3pm on July 15,22 and 29; August 12,19 and 26.
Music and Learn for the Great Start of Mason, Lake, and Oceana Counties. An opportunity for families to engage in early literacy through music, movement and rhythm-based activities. Sandcastles Children's museum 6/11.7/09 & 7/30 from 1-2pm. Scottville Library 6/18,6/25,7/02,7/09,7/16,7/23,7/30, & 8/06 from 1030-1130am. Pathfinder Library 6/10,6/24, & 7/15 from 3-4pm. Sign up at the library for this year's Summer Reading Contest, which runs July 1-31.Winners announced August 1. Weekly Dairy Queen certificates are handed out to those who read books from Pathfinder. The person who reads the most in each age group will win a grand prize. There are 6 age groups for the contest. A winner will be announced from each age group. Weekly reading logs are handed out at the library's front desk. All reading logs must be returned by July 31st.
Electric Skillet cooking class hosted by library in partnership with District 10 Health Department. Learn how to eat healthy while shopping on a budget, watch a meal demonstration provided by District 10 Health Department, and get recipes and ideas for meal planning. Registration required in person, or call the library at 745-4010. Classes limited to 25 persons per session. Session 1 is for families, and session 2 for Senior Citizens. Program made possible by the Lake County Community Foundation
Celebrate Black History Month all February long with Pathfinder Community Library on the 100th anniversary of black history commemorations. Includes picture and quote from Malcolm X: Education is the passport for the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.
National Library Week celebration, join us for cake and refreshments and the history of the library display. Saturday April 25 from 12-3pm
The library's Memorial Day Book and Bake Sale will be May 22 from 8am to 5pm and May 23 from 8am to 3pm at the library.

Easter Giveaway for Kids on Saturday, March 28th from 11 am to 3 pm at the library,
Waste Community Drop off Day is May 30th from 9am to 2pm behind the library. All electronics and batteries welcome; there is a 5 dollar fee for tube monitors and TVs

Thanks to generous Grant funds from The Gerber Foundation, Come in and check out the library Junior Nonfiction Book Upgrade. So many Books, so Little Time. Saturday, November 8 from 10am to 3 pm.
Join us for a Halloween Party at the Library Saturday October 25 from 12 to 3 pm. Kids of all ages welcome. Wear your costume if you would like. There will be snacks, crafts and a movie.
The Library and Lake County Lions Club invite you to Trick Or Treats, October 31 starting at 3 pm at the Library at 880 Michigan Avenue in Baldwin.
